Study, Try, Achieve for Recognition and Success
Welcome back to the place where "S.T.A.R.S" shine!! It is hard to believe that summer is almost over and another school year is about to start. We have all been very busy getting things ready for another year. Lots of new changes are on the horizon. Mississippi, along with other states across the nation has adopted the new Common Core State Standards. The Common Core State Standards Initiative (CCSSI) is an effort designed to improve educational outcomes for students by developing a set of common, voluntary, internationally-benchmarked academic standards in mathematics and English language arts. For more details, check out www.commoncore.org. These new standards will be implemented in kindergarten through second grades this fall. More information will be provided by the Madison County School District. We have spent much time training and learning how to implement these changes. We are excited and ready to go! The above theme: S.T.A.R.S.- Study, Try, Achieve for Recognition and Success, will keep us all focused as we move forward in making the changes a reality.
